Trojans Split at Hogan's Hole Against #9 Enterprise

A matchup between two top-ten teams in Alabama was split Tuesday night at CHHS with 6A #9 ranked Enterprise defeating 5A #5 ranked Charles Henderson 9-5 in game one and the Trojans winning game two 14-4 in six innings.

In game one Mitch McLeod's third inning solo home run was the only scoring by CHHS until the fifth inning, when McLeod reached on a walk and later scored from third on a wild pitch. In the sixth inning Chance Shaver's two out double sent Michael Fox and K.D. Edenfield home to cut the Wildcat lead to 7-5, which was as close as the Trojans would get.

In game two Junior Harrison Reeves gave CHHS a strong performance on the mound to lead them to the win. Reeves went five innings, allowed four runs, and struck out two. He faced the minimum through the first three innings before surrendering two runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Sophomore Jalin Lawson pitched a scoreless sixth inning in relief and recorded two strikeouts.

Nathan Barron's two run homerun in the bottom of the first inning got CHHS on the board. The Trojans would finish with four runs in the first on an RBI fielder's choice by Chase Connell and RBI ground out by Dalton Harris. Chance Shaver finished 3-3 with three runs scored, Barron was 3-4 with 4 RBI, three runs, and a stolen base. Quay Lawson was 2-4 with three runs scored and two RBI while Connell finished with two RBI and two runs scored.
