Thomas' Late Inning Heroics Spark Trojan Sweep

Michael Thomas' bases loaded, two out triple in the bottom of the seventh made the Trojans' first win of 2012 a memorable one, defeating G.W. Long 6-5 in walk-off fashion. Down 5-3 and with only one out remaining, Thomas laced a ball down the right field line scoring Tripp Blackmon from third base, Jalin Lawson from second base, and winning run Joey Denison from first base. Michael Fox finished 2-4 with two runs scored and a double, Denison was 2-3 with an RBI and run scored.

Houston Mabray and Fox put in great work on the mound to keep CHHS close. Mabray got the start and worked four innings striking out three. Fox was credited with the win after working three innings and striking out six.

Charles Henderson finished the sweep by defeating Jackson 11-0. Blackmon got the win by working a complete game and striking out six. Denison was 2-2 in the nightcap and scored two runs, Luke Hastings was 1-1 with three RBI and a double. Gregory Barnette finished 1-3 with two RBI and a straight steal of home plate in the second inning. Chase Smartt and Jalin Lawson each added hits.

The Trojans will return to action Thursday at Enterprise.
