Trojans Take Down Alabama Christian

A trio of Trojans pitchers combined to hold Alabama Christian to four hits as CHHS improved to 23-2 with a 10-2 victory. Xavius Burden got things started on the mound and worked three innings striking out three. Blake Craft came on in the fourth inning and struck out three without allowing a run. Austin Ingram closed out the game by retiring three consecutive batters in the seventh.

After ACA jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first, Joey Denison propelled CHHS into the lead with a three run blast that scored Hunter Baggett and Tripp Blackmon. Later in the inning Morgan Shaver singled in two runs and Craft scored on a wild pitch to make the score 6-2. Burden and Shaver both picked up RBIs in the second inning to stretch the lead to 8-2. Blackmon hit a two run shot off the right field foul pole to cap the scoring and make it a 10-2 Trojan victory.

Charles Henderson returns to area play Thursday at home against Headland. The JV plays at 4:00 and the Varsity will follow at 6:00.
