Trojans Sweep Opening Day Twin Bill

The 2011 Trojans opened the season with a sweep of Dothan and Greenville Monday at Hogan's Hole on the campus of Charles Henderson High School. In game one CHHS defeated Dothan 6-2. Harrison Reeves worked a complete game on the mound allowing five hits and no earned runs. The Trojans' big inning came in the third when Jalin Lawson's two run home run drove in Gregory Barnette who reached on an error. Chase Connell followed with a double and was driven in by Michael Fox's double. Lawson would add two more RBI in the fourth on a single and Tyler Dansby tacked on an insurance run in the sixth with an RBI double.

In game two the Trojans exploded for 22 runs to defeat Greenville by a final count of 22-4. Gregory Barnette hit a grand slam and added two doubles to finish 3-3. Chase Connell was 2-3 with two doubles and Chase Smartt was a perfect 4-4 with three RBI. Brantley LeCroy also drove in two runs. On the mound Blake Hutchinson got the start and worked three innings and struck out six. Houston Mabray finished the final two innings striking out three.

CHHS returns to action Thursday on the road at Enterprise.
