CHHS was crowned tournament champions of the Jason Armstrong Memorial Tournament sponsored by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Saturday after defeating Decatur and Alabama Christian.

In the first game junior Tripp Blackmon no-hit Decatur as the Trojans cruised to a 16-0 victory. Blackmon struck out six. His no-hitter was the third by the CHHS program this week against a 6A program. JV players Blake Craft and Xavius Burden each threw no-hitters against Northview on Monday. At the plate Jalin Lawson was 2-2 with two doubles and two RBI. Luke Hastings was 1-2 with two RBI and Austin Adler was 1-2 with an RBI.

In what proved to be the tournament championship game, senior Jalin Lawson turned in a complete game performance striking out four while allowing one earned run. The Trojans took the lead in the first inning when Michael Fox drew a lead off walk and was bunted to second by Michael Thomas. Joey Denison followed two batters later with an RBI single to score Fox and give CHHS a 1-0 lead. Denison added another RBI in the third inning when his groundout scored Thomas, who reached on a walk and was moved to third base on a double by Lawson. The Trojans surrendered a run in the bottom of the third to bring the score to 2-1 in favor of CHHS. Chase Smartt added an insurance run for the Trojans with a sacrifice fly to score Gregory Barnette, who led off the inning with a triple.
